MING is a globally acclaimed martial artist specialising in Taekwondo, and is one of the most followed Singaporean athletes on social media.
MING was the first Singaporean to take home a gold medal from the Commonwealth Taekwondo Championships in 2017. As a two-time SEA games medallist, he also achieved Singapore’s best results for Men’s Kyorugi since 1999, finishing with a silver medal in 2019. His ultimate goal in sports is to be the nation’s first taekwondo Olympian at Tokyo 2020.
Aside from sports, MING has quickly emerged as one of the fastest growing personalities on social media in the region with 7 million followers. With a focus on promoting sports initially, he has later found a passion for video-making where he became most well-known for his prank videos with his father (popularly known as Daddy Ming), comedic clips and short skits. These videos that both bring joy and promote family bonding all at once are frequently reposted on meme pages such as 9GAG, Lad Bible, 433, Buzzfeed, Cabronazi and Worldstar. His journey on social media as a short form video creator has also been regularly featured on various national newspapers and television channels.
